²⁷ Baasha son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines. Now Nadab and all of Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon, ²⁸ and Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa the king of Judah, and he reigned in his place. ²⁹ It happened that as soon as he became king, he killed all of the house of Jeroboam.
